Based around the technology of Universal Scene Description (an easily extensible, open-source 3D scene description and file format developed by Pixar), Omniverse Enterprise allows teams to connect and customize complex 3D projects and operate large scale, physically accurate virtual worlds in real time or as a stage in modern production pipelines.

BMW teamed up with NVIDIA to test the Omniverse Enterprise by building a virtual replica of their car manufacturing plant, with robots and “humans” working together on production lines.

This “digital twin” identified a number of significant AI-led optimizations that improved productivity and operations of the plant through a series of trial-and-error tests that would have otherwise been incredibly difficult or costly to perform in real life.
